Texas MedClinic Picks Up Four New Locations in Central Texas
September 4, 2024
Texas MedClinic Urgent Care, which has served residents of and visitors to the state for more than 40 years, picked up four new locations in the greater Austin-San Antonio metro area on Monday, August 26, 2024:
- Liberty Hill: 13140 W State Hwy. 29, Liberty Hill, TX 78642
- Burnet: 101 Leffingwell Lane, Burnet, TX 78611
- Jarrell: 113 Slowbes Way, Jarrell, TX 76537
- Lockhart: 1701 S Colorado Street, Lockhart, TX 78644
The clinics are open Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and weekends, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Urgent care and occupational health services are offered at each of the four clinics.
“We have been steadily expanding our footprint in Central Texas to provide better access to care,” said Jim Ashby, chief executive officer of Texas MedClinic. “So, when Access Health Urgent Care reached out to us in June to ask if we would be interested in bringing the Texas MedClinic brand to the communities of Liberty Hill, Burnet, Jarrell and Lockhart, we were thrilled.”
“Increasing the number of our locations in and around San Antonio and Austin ensures that folks in these growing communities can get the care they need for their non-life threatening but urgent health needs,” Ashby continued. “This has become increasingly important as primary care appointments grow scarcer and hospital emergency rooms become overwhelmed.”
Both Access Health and Texas MedClinic wanted to minimize the time between the former’s closure and the latter’s opening to mitigate the impact on patients. Although Texas MedClinic did not acquire Access Health, the two cooperated to keep the closure to only two weeks. In addition to making improvements to the spaces, Ashby said the company used the down time to onboard the staff from Access Health.
“No one wants to see people lose their jobs when a company closes, so Access Health gave us the opportunity to extended job offers to their clinic staff,” said Ashby. “We couldn’t be happier that nearly all employees accepted, and we have been very impressed with their professionalism, compassion and energy. They mesh well with the Texas MedClinic culture, and we’re glad they’ve chosen to continue serving their communities with us.”
Like other Texas MedClinics, the new locations serve patients on a walk-in basis and provide treatments for a wide range of conditions including upper respiratory infections, sprains and strains, sinus infections and minor fractures. The clinics are also equipped with diagnostic tools such as X-ray and EKG and provide on-site testing for flu, COVID-19, RSV, strep and pregnancy.
